2017marks the five hundered anniversary of the Reformation which started due Martin Luther Disputation on the Power of Indulgences in Eisenach, which is now in the state of Thüringen in Germany.
Close by this town and in that time belonging to the same heir, there is the Veste Coburg, one of the largest fortresses in Germany which is not a ruin. Luther stayed there for quite some time on this castle as he declared "Vogelfrei" (which means he was outlawed and stripped of by any rights) in all areas ruled by the Kaiser of the Holy Roman Empire at that time, and could not move freely by risk of his life. It might have been there that he has written his famous words: " A might fortress is our God".. inspired by the mighty walls which protected him, we might never know.. But if you visit his chamber - which still exists 500 years later you will get an impression how he might have felt. The reformation changed the world forever, our world would not exist withouth this incident. This view of the castle reminded me of the history happened there..
