There is a level called "The plateau" in nearly every photographers or artist life.
It is the level where you feel your good, that your images are good, but also the level where you not feeling that your art is improving any further.
You have mastered your camera, you have mastered the rules of composition, you know how to make decent shots of most topics some can shot.
But you feel that your images often lack this kind of mojo, this special twist the images of the great masters of photography often have.
I have felt that I reached plateau since early this year and even if I thought before that hitting plateau won’t affect me it did. The first time in nearly 7 years of shooting I had a lack of motivation to create new images or work on my photographs I did shot. For the first time I felt unhappy with my photography.
Some days ago I chatted with a friend about arts and photography.
After a while she said that I really know how to create good images. And suddendly she asked me
- “Can you explain me what you wanna create?
Can you tell me what kind of stories you want to tell?"
My answer was: “ I really don’t know myself”.. Suddenly I realized that I have lost track about the WHAT I want to create and what I want to tell.
And thinking about it more I also found that I lost my WHY i shot.
I don’t know if you are familiar with Simon Sineks TED Talk about the WHY -HOW- WHAT. If not I can strongly recommend watching it. Is is really really mind changing and maybe even life changing. Simon Sinek points out that the WHY is what inspires us. That the WHY is what you makes happy, That the WHY is what you keeps going on.
So what is my WHY in photography?
My WHY is that I want to show people my inner truth of the world.
My WHY is to show the beauty of this world as I am allowed to experience is and to cheer people.
My WHY is to create artworks which express the energy and emotions I do feel inside of me.
My WHY is that I want to create visual poems somewhere in between romantic, impressionism, modernism and abstract expressionism to express myself.
And what kind of stories I wanna tell?
I wanna tell stories about of the impressions of people I met and encounters I had, of experiences of cities I have lived and places I have visited. Either close to reality and clear or blurred or even abstract. I wanna tell about art pour l'art and how images which are fully subjective let every viewer discover it's own messages.
Thanks my friend for open up my ideas and let me rediscover my WHY and WHAT.

Series Energy & Process
or at instagram:
The Energy and Process series consists of
multi-technique (Photography and PC) images, each is originating
from a digital photography, no additional textures or add ons.
The contrast of light and darkness, colors , graphical and free forms in those images remind me of elements, energies which react with each other, which seem to be alive in an ongoing process. I create abstract art which shows mundane things transformed into the unknown.
